Billionaire and former weapons entrepreneur Tony Stark (again played by the talented Robert Downey, Jr.) returns in this action-packed sequel.
Once again directed by Jon Favreau, Stark has two antagonists to fight off as he tries to achieve world peace.
Mickey Rourke plays a Russian bad guy named Ivan Vanko. He has tattoos, long, stringy hair and he's been waiting years to use his electrified coils to kill Stark and avenge his wronged father.
The second, and more interesting one, is Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer. He uses his slick and evil ways to try to outsmart Stark on getting a pentagon contract. He's a lot of fun to watch.
Stark also has two women to focus on. Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) is sassy and reliable as the woman he trusts enough to promote to CEO of his company. And, Natasha (played by beauty Scarlett Johansson), is very resourceful as his new assistant. She's all business during the day, and a catsuit-wearing karate expert at night.
Stark is as witty, cocky and outrageous as ever, and Downey fits the part perfectly. Even though some of the charm of the first film is overshadowed by the increased amount of CG action, it's still a very entertaining thrill ride.
